General Policies

Trial Class
A Dancer who has NEVER attended a class at Trinity is entitled to ONE free trial class (not one free trial class per dance style!)

Class Attire
Trinity Arts Dance Academy enforces a dress code. The simple leotard and tights combination makes it possible for the instructors to see the dancer's bodies and make the proper corrections. Many times, dancers are distracted by skirts and tutus causing them to lose focus on the instructor. Learning to dance and work together as a team can be more easily achieved by removing the distraction of different dancewear. Instructors are also able to choreograph dances more effectively when the dancers are dressed the same. TADA has a selection of all required class dance attire at the studio for your shopping convenience.

Class Placement
Every student at TADA will be placed in a class and level where they will feel challenged but not discouraged. Class placement is dependent upon technical level, not always by age. Children registered in classes which exceed their ability are in danger of serious injuries to their growth and self-esteem. Our studio director, Kjelene Deakin, is always available for consultation. Trinity Arts Dance Academy reserves the right to change a student's class based on appropriate age and/or skill level at any time.

Class Time and Schedule
Classes are scheduled between 25-85 minutes. It is at the instructor's discretion to allow a 5-10 minutes transition time for dancers and to address any questions/concerns. We strive to follow our schedule strictly and you will help us to do so by making an appointment with your instructor or studio director if you need us to address your individual question/concerns.

Schedule is subject to change. Classes will be closed when full. Each teacher will determine class sizes. Classes without adequate enrollment will be cancelled or combined at the discretion of the Studio Director, Kjelene Deakin.

Substitutes will teach class if the regular teacher is unavailable.

Student's Safety
Dancers may never leave the studio without appropriate street wear covering all dance attire. Students should be picked up on time and should not be left in the lobby. Please make sure your child knows not to leave the studio without you.

Etiquette
- TADA's dressing rooms and studios are for dancers only.
- Arrive to class on time. The first 15 minutes are crucial to a proper warm up.
- Dancer should be dressed in proper dance attire. Dress code is strictly enforced.
- Dance shoes are to be worn on DANCE FLOORS ONLY. No street or wet shoes allowed in dance rooms. This helps to prolong the life of your expensive dance shoes and our dance floors!
- Dancers should focus during class, no talking.
- No food, gum or drinks (except bottled water) will be allowed during class. Everyone is responsible for cleaning up after him or herself!
- Students should come to class with a positive attitude, ready to dance!
- Parents/Guardians will only be allowed to enter dance rooms by invitation only. If you wish to observe any classes, please only do so quietly from the windows. Observation may be closed at any time.

Studio Recital
As part of our dance curriculum, our studio will have a recital to showcase the talents of our dancers every two years. During the learning process, students learn invaluable experience including self-esteem to help dancers to grow and to be a better person. In a recital year, every dancer must commit to a performance package which includes costume fees, tickets and production costs.

Intensive Program, The Young Company (TYC)
Every year in May we will audition dancers for TYC. TYC is a group of exceptional Dancers who are looking for an intensive program to rise above and beyond, to challenge themselves through community performances, competition and conventions and strive for the opportunities these venues provide. Please inquire Studio Director, Kjelene Deakin, for details.
