Stanford Invites Livermore Dancers To Perform The Half-Time Show
The floors were swept, the lights were on, the crowd was roaring, and the dancers' butterflies were fluttering like crazy! This was not a typical performance, this was a once in a lifetime experience.
A National winning Choreographer, Crissy Apgar was invited by Stanford University to bring Trinity Arts Dance Academy's performance team, The Young Company, to perform hip hop dances at the half time show of the women's basketball game. The game was held on Thursday, February 9, Stanford vs. UC Santa Barbara. This rare opportunity was a great experience for all the dancers as well as for Ms. Apgar and Kjelene Deakin, artistic director of Trinity Arts Dance Academy. Dancers at the half time show were Gabriel Deakin, Allison Popovits, Elijah Deakin, River Sandoval, Elaine Yu, Rachael Pann, Sara Shull, Nicolette Moghadam, Lindsey McIntyre, Hannah Tennyson, Tylar Springer, Chelsea Albert, Ashley Grossman, Mary Hazen, Lauren Aranador and Larissa Franco. While they were dancing, the crowd roared louder than they had all night! It was spectacular! They were even told that it was the best half time show all year! Ms. Apgar is so proud of all the dancers! Hip Hop Dance performances at basketball half time shows are now a brand new trend.
